Eligibility: 18 to 29 years of age with undergraduate degree

Are you ready to become one of the leaders of tomorrow? Do you have an open mind and limitless potential and wish to play a crucial role in deepening understanding between China and the rest of the world?

Each year a new cohort of Schwarzman Scholars is selected to receive a world-class education through interactions with foreign ministers, political leaders, cultural luminaries, and entrepreneurs.

Eligibility criteria for the Schwarzman Scholars

Perspective scholars should demonstrate extraordinary leadership skills, integrity, academic excellence, and entrepreneurial spirit. In addition, the following criteria must be met:

• be between 18 and 29 years of age as of Agust 1
• hold an undergraduate degree, or be on track to complete all the requirements before August 1
• demonstrated strong English skills, whereas candidates with English as a non-native language need to provide an official English proficiency test

Application Process

The rigorous and thorough application process aims to select the most promising young leaders worldwide. All applications are required to include:

1. Resume – a current version with a maximum of 2 pages
2. Two Essays – A leadership Essay (750 words) and a Statement of Purpose (500 words), through which the committee can understand you better, and get a sense of your abilities and potential
3. Transcript/ Academic Records – a scan of official transcripts for each degree-granting post-secondary education institution you attended
4. 3 letters of recommendation – a space for recommenders to describe your intellectual abilities, personal characteristics, and leadership potential using specific examples from their experience with you
5. self-introduction video – no more than a minute to introduce and describe yourself to the committee

Once selected based on the provided information, committee will invite you for in-person interviews in late October and early November.
