Tomorrow’s Leaders Program
Sponsored by the U.S. Department of State’s Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI), the program offers real-world experiences that complement classroom learning, equipping you with practical skills and an expansive network of peers and mentors.
Since 2006, this prestigious program has partnered with renowned American-style universities, providing a pathway for undergraduate and graduate students to develop leadership skills, engage in critical thinking, and make lasting impacts in their communities and beyond.
Selected students receive a wide array of financial and academic support, including:
- Tuition and enrollment fees for up to four years for undergraduates and two years for graduate students.
- Health insurance through the host university.
- Entrance visa and residency permit fees to facilitate international student status.
- On-campus housing and a monthly stipend during program activities.
- Textbook allowance and a laptop for use during the program.
- Round-trip flights to the student’s home country or place of residence once per year.
- Internship opportunities, civic leadership, and career workshops to cultivate practical skills.
- Mentorship and guidance from faculty and program leaders.
Additionally, undergraduate students have the opportunity to study at a university in the United States. Graduates however have the opportunity to participate in graduate assistantships or research assistantships.
Eligibility criteria
This scholarship is open to citizens of Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Syria, Tunisia, the West Bank/Gaza, and Yemen.
To be eligible, you must demonstrate strong academic achievement, leadership potential, adaptability, and financial need. Moreover, you need to be able to start the program in August 2025
Undergraduate Program Requirements
- Current high school seniors or 2024 graduates, with special eligibility for 2023 graduates from Iraq, Libya, Syria, West Bank/Gaza, and Yemen.
- A minimum TOEFL iBT score of 80 (within two years of program start) or eligibility for intensive English training if needed.
Graduate Program Requirements
- Ability to meet the English standards required for the chosen graduate program.
- Meeting admission requirements of the host university
- Commitment to completing the program within two academic years
