Details of the Fellowship and application process
The application is a joint one from both the applicant and the host. Applicants must identify a suitable project and a host supervisor at an institution outside of their own country.
The McDonald Fellowship is a two-year grant of around £30,000 GBP per year for the applicant to cover travel and living costs. An additional £2,000 GBP per year is allocated towards the host institution.
The fellowship should start within 12 months of receiving the funding. A part of the second-year grant should be used to cover the fellow’s expenses to attend the annual congress of ECTRIMS, the European Committee for Treatment and Research in MS.
Upon completion, fellows are expected to return to their own countries and continue their contribution to MS research with the use of the newly developed expertise and networks.
