Humphrey Fellowship Program is a ten-month program of independent non-degree study at a leading U.S. university. Its Fulbright exchange aims to build connections between the U.S. and foreign leaders. The main goal of those connections is to advance solutions to the most pressing global challenges.
Eligibility and how to apply for the program
The Fellowship program is open to mid-career professionals with:
- a proven track record of leadership
- a public service commitment
- the capacity to take full advantage of the program
You can apply through your home country’s Binational Fulbright Commission or the Public Affairs Section of the U.S. embassy. They will provide you with more details regarding eligibility and the specific deadline for your country. Here is a full list of eligible countries.
Fellowship components
Professional Affiliation, where fellows are invited to collaborate with U.S.-based organizations, share their practices and knowledge, and apply their learning in real-world settings.
The Humphrey Seminar is where Fellows develop their program goals and focus on professional networking, and leadership development.
Global Leadership Forum provides a great opportunity for fellows to enhance their professional skills, foster cross-section collaborations, and join many of the planned activities.
The Humphrey Fellowship Program includes
- Payment of tuition and fees at the assigned host university
- pre-academic English language training, if required
- maintenance(living) allowance, including a one-time settling-in allowance
- accident and sickness coverage
- book allowance
- one-time computer subsidy
- air travel (international to and from the U.S. for the Program and domestic travel to required program events)
- professional development allowance for professional activities, such as field trips, professional visits, and conferences
