Skinnovation 2020

Skinnovation is the first startup conference on skis. More than 300 startups, investors, innovative corporates and entrepreneurship enthusiasts meet up to ski together, attend talks in the ski hut and network together.

Pitching happens in the ski lift. Taking place in the capital of the Alps, Innsbruck, and surrounding ski resorts, this event is literally the coolest startup event in Europe.

Skinnovation is happening because things need to be done. Skinnovation#1 started with just 40 brave skinnovators working on the goal to develop ideas to make Innsbruck more innovative and attractive for startups.

Skiing: Lift tickets included

You’ll be taken to two great ski resorts, namely Axamer Lizum and Schlick2000.

Whether you are a beginner or pro, there are plenty of slopes for all levels or you might also go off-slope or try out the funpark.

Talks: Meet speakers personally

Listen to inspiring startup stories, learn from experienced entrepreneurs or join one of the discussion rounds. While gathering many top-notch speakers, yet our talks take place in the cosy atmosphere of a ski hut.

This informal setting fosters true exchange and gives you the opportunity to meet the speakers personally and ask questions.

Lift Pitch: Get investors and win valuable prizes

Maybe you have already been pitching in a lift, but probably not in a ski lift (except if you attended last year’s Skinnovation). No fancy Powerpoint presentation, just you and the investors riding up the mountain.

The ski lift takes exactly seven minutes and there an always two investors together with one startup in the 4-seat chairlift. The best startups from the lift pitch will get the chance to pitch in front of the crowd on the final evening.

Networking/app:

It’s all about making connections. The event app will help you to get in touch with other Skinnovators and set up meetings. Besides, the app will keep you updated about ongoing talks and activities.

Network Pitch:

On the first evening, the stage will be yours. Take the chance and pitch your startup in 60 seconds to the Skinnovation crowd. It’s not a competition but the chance to get your idea out to as many people as possible.

Tyrolean Evening: Lunch and dinner included

The first evening of the event is themed as Tyrolean evening. So if you are owning a Dirndl or Lederhosen it’s the right time to wear it. Besides, there will be some delicious Tyrolean food and beer for you to try out. We bet you won’t go home hungry this evening.

Table Captains: Deep dive into a topic

During the Friday evening dinner at the restaurant Stiftskeller, each table is going to be hosted by one expert who will guide an exciting dinner discussion.

Get the chance to ask and discuss questions and make valuable contact, all while enjoying some great Tyrolean food. Discussion topics will be announced a few weeks before the conference.

Ski Race: Win cool prizes

This race is not about the toughest skier (or snowboarder) – Network on a faster level, find a partner and beat the mass by having the smallest time difference. Cool rewards are waiting for the best-synchronized team.

Afterparty: Live band playing

Even the best things are coming to an end. After the pitch finals, we invite you to the after party at the Soulkitchen. Hit the dance floor where a live band is playing or enjoy some drinks at the bar.
