What makes re:publica such a unique festival is the active participation of participants, speakers and activists like you.

Imagination knows no limits. After all, and the openness and diversity of topics is one of the hallmarks of re:publica! As before, the topics range from work and education, health and mobility, to media, politics, science and business – all aspects of social life have their place at re:publica.

The main focus of the conference, as always, is on net politics. Current political developments are illuminated, debated and scrutinised by experts from the digital sphere.

Other areas of policy, be it European politics or urban development and sustainability are also relevant.

Furthermore, re:publica comprises a lively display of various aspects of digital society. The conference covers topics such as pop and hacker culture, inclusion, hate speech on the Internet, the Maker movement, or Social Media Marketing. Every exciting, remarkable or surprising net topic is welcome there.

Re:publica aims to present the opportunities and benefits of new technologies in various areas of society, while simultaneously taking a critical look behind the scenes. There is more to it than just a display of the latest technological developments. It’s about evaluating them in the long term and making suggestions for the future.

As the first re:publica event abroad it will be bit smaller than in Berlin. That’s why there is a more condensed program of re:publica’s core topics planned for the Dublin event on October 20. The visitors in Ireland will get an impression of what digital society means for the re:publica community.
