Are you passionate about global health leadership and want to take the next step in your career?
The University of Hong Kong (HKU), in collaboration with the U.S. National Academy of Medicine (NAM), opened the call for applications for the NAM-HKU Fellowship in Global Health Leadership for the 2025-26 cohort.
NAM-HKU Fellowship in Global Health Leadership
This prestigious Fellowship Programme, established in 2019, is a two-year training initiative aimed at early to mid-career scholars who aspire to make meaningful contributions to global health.
The NAM-HKU Fellowship includes:
- Master of Public Health (MPH) Programme at HKU’s School of Public Health. Available on a part-time or full-time basis
- Research Attachment at HKU for research or knowledge exchange under the guidance of esteemed faculty.
- NAM Residency at the U.S. National Academy of Medicine in Washington, D.C., where fellows will collaborate with expert committees and receive mentorship from NAM members.
- Travel Support: Roundtrip airfare from Hong Kong to Washington, D.C., is covered for the residency experience.
Please note that while the Fellowship covers significant expenses, fellows are responsible for travel to Hong Kong (if applicable) and living costs during their stay in both locations.

Eligibility criteria
To be considered for the NAM-HKU Fellowship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
Academic Background: Early to mid-career scholars with a graduate degree (master’s or doctoral) and 2-10 years of post-degree work experience.
Commitment to Global Health: Have a demonstrated interest in fields such as global health policy, governance, diplomacy, sustainable development, health equity, health systems, and economics.
