Eligibility: The competition is open to every tech entrepreneur that has a business concept or early stage prototype for a profitable and scalable (across Africa) business.

Muzinda Hub is launching its inaugural Business Plan Competition targeted at African tech entrepreneurs with a business idea that rests on a web or app-based solution.
Muzinda is Zimbabwe’s first entrepreneurship and innovation Hub. A one-stop shop for idea development, innovation and digital skills development. These ideas will then be turned into solutions and business cases for job creation, wealth creation and sustainable social impact. The Hub’s initiative seek to capacitate the youth with both an investment in human capital through training and mentorship programs that connect Zimbabwe’s youth to opportunities within the emerging knowledge economy.
Through the business plan competition, Muzinda Hub is targeting entrepreneurs with outstanding ideas which are at the concept or prototype stage.
Benefits:
10 shortlisted African businesses will pitch to a panel of judges during Global Entrepreneurship Week (November 16-22, 2015).
Muzinda Hub will build the technology platforms for the top 5 businesses and also provide online entrepreneurship training from from Johannesburg-based, Ubuntu Equity.
Business Plan and technology requirements:
The business proposal must be for a web or app based business idea.
The idea must be at concept stage or at very early stage prototype.
The proposal must be for a profitable business idea.
The idea must be scalable within an African context.
Muzinda Hub has focused on providing a supporting pillar in terms of tech platform development because, according to Tendai Mashinagidze, the head of Muzinda Hub,
“Development costs are arguably the biggest cost for tech startups on the continent and we believe that this is the space where Muzinda can add value, by providing pro-bono development hours as in this case with our annual business plan competition, and also affordable development costs to the startup community”
