ITNEXT Summit 2019

Are you curious to know more about best practices that are core to production excellence? Are you choosing data for AI projects wisely? Do you want to know how to revolutionize your software process by kicking off with AWS Lambda?

Are you changing JS frameworks at the same pace as fashion is changing and want to make well-considered decisions on what to spend your time on?

If one or more of these questions trigger your developers-mind, then you’d better not miss ITNEXT Summit! In this event, speakers will showcase the nextgen tech and the necessary skills to build scalable applications in an era where time-to-market is one of the most critical factors.

Learn. Share. Connect

On Wednesday, October 30th 2019, our annual event ITNEXT Summit 2019 will take place at Pakhuis de Zwijger in Amsterdam.

This year’s event has three parallel tracks for JavaScript, DevOps and Data Engineering. The event is aimed at IT-professionals who want to deepen their knowledge and meet like-minded fellows.

Creating a safe and inclusive environment for everyone

Tech is built for humans and by humans. Different mindsets & points of view represent a better learning and sharing environment: the core ideas behind the ITNEXT initiative.

Therefore, for the 4th edition of the ITNEXT Summit wants to make diversity a priority. Why? Even though they had more than 30 speakers in 3 years, we were sad with the fact that there was not enough representation from minority groups.

We need to do better. For this years’ Summit one of our goals is creating a safe and inclusive environment for everyone.

We started by inviting two amazing engineers to be track chairs and also keynote the event: Tara Ojo and Holden Karau. Liz Fong-Jones, former SRE at Google and now SRE Dev Advocate at Honeycomb will give a fantastic (and funny) keynote talk.

Next, to that, we proceeded to ask one of the most brilliant Kubernetes engineers in the world to do the closing keynote, Kris Nova. What do they have in common? They are all fantastic engineers with a strong presence in the community and are part of underrepresented groups in tech.

Next, to that, they are offering diversity tickets, have and execute a clear code of conduct and will do everything that is in our power to create a safe environment and safe community for everyone.
