Eligibility: individuals aged 16-35 with demonstrated leadership and advocacy experience in climate action
Dates: September 3 - October 1, 2024

Are you a young climate advocate looking to engage deeply with international climate policy?

Check out this unique opportunity that could equip you with the knowledge and confidence necessary to contribute meaningfully to climate action on both domestic and international stages.

Global Youth Climate Training Programme 2024

This free, fully online capacity-building initiative is a collaboration between the Global Youth Coalition (GYC), a coalition of climate youth changemakers, and researchers at the University of Oxford.

This year’s programme, running from 3 September to 1 October 2024, with a concluding session on 1 November 2024, builds on the success of its inaugural year.

While last year’s training demystified the intricacies of the UNFCCC and its negotiation tracks, this year shifts focus to the actions and commitments of non-state actors (cities, state and regional governments, businesses, financial institutions, and civil society groups) at the heart of climate policy.

As a participant, you will learn to:

  • Critically evaluate the legitimacy of non-state actor commitments.
  • Understand how these commitments complement state-level climate actions.
  • Situate interventions within broader contexts, such as their impacts on water, biodiversity, and social justice.
