The Department of Energy Scholars Program introduces students or recent college graduates to DOE’s mission and operations.

Participants in the DOE Scholars Program gain a competitive edge as they apply their education, talent and skills in a variety of scientific research settings within the DOE complex. Appointments are available for a variety of disciplines at participating DOE facilities nationwide.

Opportunities available through the DOE Scholars Program

How much are stipends?

For undergraduate students, stipends are a minimum of $600 per week for full-time commitment.

For graduate student, the minimum stipend is $650, for full-time commitment. Stipends will be prorated for part-time appointments.

Stipends will be deposited to your bank account in accordance with the stipend schedule provided. You should be prepared to cover all expenses for the first 30 days of your appointment.
