Are you passionate about creating lasting social impact? D-Prize Challenges are created to support you on your journey.
The competition offers grants of up to $20,000 for organizations that distribute proven poverty solutions in low- and middle-income countries.

D-Prize Challenges
D-Prize supports initiatives in various sectors. Check out the list below of high-impact products and services that you could propose in your solution:
Health
- Self-Injectable Contraceptive: Distribute Sayana® Press to underserved women through a private health network.
- Oxygen: Service and repair oxygen concentrators for better access to medical oxygen.
- Patient Identification: Identify patients needing treatment for obstetric fistula, cervical cancer, club foot, or cataracts, and connect them with corresponding services in your area.
- Maternal Health: Train birth attendants to use misoprostol to decrease maternal deaths.
- Voluntary Medical Male Circumcision: Identify and connect candidates to health facilities for VMMC, and help reduce the risk of HIV.
- Prevention of Mother-to-Child Transmission: Support and counsel HIV-positive pregnant women to adhere to ART regimens and help prevent HIV transmition to the baby.
- Child Immunization: Encourage caregivers to bring infants to health facilities for routine immunizations.
- Sugar Daddy Awareness: Educate 8th-grade students to reduce unwanted teen pregnancies and the spread of HIV infections.
Water
- Clean Access to Water: Sell ceramic water filters to people in areas lacking clean water.
Agriculture
- Quality Inputs: Provide high-quality inputs and training to smallholder farmers to increase their harvests.
- Post-Harvest Support: Offer loans and proven storage technology to increase farmers’ incomes.
- Propose Your Own Agriculture or Livestock Challenge: Suggest and plan distribution of agricultural or livestock intervention for smallholder farmers.
Livelihoods
- Reading Glasses: Distribute non-prescription reading/working glasses to those in need.
- Poverty Graduation: Provide coaching, capital, and social support to lift people from ultra-poverty.
- Propose Your Own Financial Inclusion Challenge: Distribute proven financial inclusion interventions to those in need.
Energy
- Solar Lamps: Sell pico solar lamps to households without regular electricity access, such as rural or slum-dwelling.
Public Services
- Government Transparency: Monitor and report data to reduce corruption and improve public service.
- Road Safety: Mobilize the public for road safety campaigns.
Education
- Teaching at the Right Level: Implement a TaRL program to achieve basic literacy and numeracy in resource-limited classrooms.
Custom Challenge
- Propose your challenge focused on distributing proven poverty interventions.
Application Process
Eligibility
First-time entrepreneurs and new organizations take priority in the evaluation process, however, existing ones will be taken into account provided their main focus is distributing an existing and evidence-based poverty intervention.
D-Prize is open to any business model (for-profit, non-profit, and everything in between).
Submission Guidelines
Your concept note should be a maximum of two pages and describe your organization or venture idea.
If you have a team, include each person’s Resume and what their roles and responsibilities are.
All proposals must be written in English.
