AYUDH: the12th European Youth Summit
One World. One Home.
AYUDH is an international youth movement, dedicated to empowering young people to contribute to a peaceful and sustainable world and become compassionate leaders with a sense of tolerance, solidarity and global responsibility.
Join 250 young people from 25 countries for an amazing week of learning, inspiration and exchange. The main theme of the summit is how we can create a better home. For ourselves and others, while caring for our shared home, planet earth.
Home is more than just a physical place. It is a space of security, love and harmony. Home is where we are accepted and understood, cared for and nurtured, where our dreams can grow and our potential can unfold. Everyone needs a peaceful home. Now, more than ever.
The summit provides a unique platform for personal development, intercultural dialogue, and creative expression. It invites and empowers participants to initiate the change they consider important within themselves and their environment.
Take part in talks and debates to address some of the most pressing issues our world faces today. The topics range between integration and cultural understanding to civic engagement and gender equality.
Workshops
More than 20 workshops will be offered to foster personal, environmental and global responsibilities and practical training in leadership, mindfulness, and sustainability.
This include:
- Film-making
- Public Speech
- Rap for Change
- Dance
- Photography
- Body Awareness and Martial Arts
- Permaculture
- Local and Organic Food Cultivation
- Conscious Nutrition and Consumption
- Women Empowerment
- …and much more.
The programme also includes music and sports, a video-shooting, meditation and yoga sessions, multicultural singing and a summer festival.
Symposium
On 22 July 2016, as part of the summit, AYUDH will organise a symposium on youth empowerment and cultural understanding, taking place in the historic location Kloster Eberbach.
Through this event, AYUDH will aim to shift attention from personal and cultural identities to our fundamental human identity, and our shared need to be respected, understood and loved for who we are.
The symposium will give participants the chance to directly interact with, talk and discuss with high-level institutional representatives, making sure that the voice of today’s youth is heard and considered by those who shape the policies for peace, security and integration in our global community.
‘One Humanity’
At the summit, the ‘One Humanity’ programme will be launched. It is AYUDH’s new initiative to foster cultural understanding and tolerance amongst young people of diverse backgrounds. Participants can take part in a dedicated workshop about this theme and subsequently receive an Action Kit, which empowers them to implement the project in their own communities.
Participation fee and financial support
They offer all participants from the 47 Council of Europe member states a 20% refund of their travel costs for their main means of transportation (car, bus, train or plane).
Youth who have school during the time of the summit can obtain a letter from us that certifies our initiative as a non-formal learning programme, supported by the Council of Europe. With this letter, you can receive permission from your school to take leave for the duration of the summit.
Supported by
The summit is supported by the European Youth Foundation of the Council of Europe, the Kloster Eberbach Foundation, the Lebenshilfe e.V. Offenburg, ‘Die Kuemmerer Beerfelden’ (association for refugee youth), the municipalities of Brombachtal and Michelstadt.
It promotes the No Hate Speech Movement of the Council of Europe.
AYUDH’s annual youth summits have been supported eight times by the ‘Youth in Action’ Programme administered by the European Commission. Twice the Commission selected us as ‘Best Practice’ Projects, for ‘Reaching New Heights’ and ‘Our World. Our Vision. Our Future.’
