Rotman European Trading Competition 2020

Rotman European Trading Competition invites students from the leading European universities to take part in the best European simulated market challenge.

Join the European edition of the very successful Rotman International Trading Competition (RITC) held annually in Toronto, where 50 schools from around the world meet and compete in simulated markets.

Tackle the real-life challenges

During the competition, you will have an opportunity to learn through real-life challenges and engage in stimulating face-to-face interaction with like-minded students and mentors.

The RIT Decision Cases planned for RETC-2020 will allow you to test your skills and knowledge and gain hands-on experience. A tentative list is as follows:

  1. Enel Electricity Case:
    Generate profits from transportation arbitrages by buying and selling power/electricity and raw materials.
  2. Credit Risk Case:
    This case will test your ability to develop a credit risk model, assess the impact of news releases on credit risk, and profit from mispricing opportunities.
  3. EIB Interest Rate Case:
    In this challenge, you will forecast the impact of the news on the benchmark rates and exploit any bond mispricing opportunities to generate profits.
  4. Sales & Trader Case:
    This case will allow you to generate profits by taking advantage of pricing discrepancies while managing liquidity and market risk associated with covering large block trades on a simulated stock market.
  5. Quantitative Outcry Trading Case:
    Solve the case by analyzing news releases to predict the future market price of the RT 100 index.
  6. Algorithmic Trading Case:
    This case is designed to challenge your programming skills. Using the available RIT APIs, you will develop algorithms to automate your trading strategies.
