Plus 1 Eco Odyssey 2024

The Plus 1 Eco Odyssey is a reality TV show, created by World Tree Productions and promoted in partnership with AlphaGamma. The upcoming first season is all about water, our most precious resource.

The initiative aims to inspire, empower, and create a bias for action among a new generation of eco-entrepreneurs committed to creating a more sustainable future.

It will spotlight underrepresented communities from around the globe who are disproportionately impacted by climate change.

“The goal of the show is to accentuate Gen Z’s ingenuity to solve critical climate-related water issues. The Plus 1 Eco Odyssey will showcase the creativity and talent of the largest, most diverse, and digitally connected generation on earth (Gen Z) and will inspire future entrepreneurs who are acutely aware of the impact that humans are having on the environment. They know that the time for action is right now. 

With a $50,000 prize and a 12-month mentorship, the winning contestant will have all the tools they need to scale their eco-business. 

“This is a truly unique opportunity for social entrepreneurs”, says Arthur Gopak, CEO of AlphaGamma. “Each eco-entrepreneur will get an episode specifically focused on their business idea – providing an important platform to a worldwide audience of potential investors and customers.”

Who should apply?

The Plus 1 Eco Odyssey invites adventurous eco-entrepreneurs with unique water innovations that can help mitigate climate change.

The show will feature contestants from around the globe – each episode will feature a different business or science challenge, and our panel of esteemed judges will score your performance!

Have a blast while saving our planet!

If you are selected to participate in the Series, you will be filmed in your country of origin.

The shooting of the show will take between January and April 2024. You will participate in several fun entrepreneurial and science-related challenges throughout the show.

A panel of judges will score you in each of these challenges. And you will receive a ranking relative to the other contestants.

The top 3 best performers will head to the Semi-Finals. It will be held in Arizona, the United States. There, the contestants will compete for a $50,000 USD prize and a 12-month mentorship to grow their eco-businesses.

Eligible countries

The applications are open to legal residents of the 26 countries, including but not limited to:

the United States, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and all U.S. territories. And any of the following countries: Argentina, Australia, Barbados, Bermuda, Canada (except for the province of Quebec), Chile, China, Colombia, Denmark, Guatemala, India, Ireland, Japan, Latvia, Mexico, Morocco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Serbia, South Africa, South Korea, Switzerland, Taiwan, and the United Arab Emirates.

Time commitment

Once selected, the filming crew will fly to the location of each participant and will film their daily lives for 2-3 days. The time will be coordinated in such a way as not to disturb the daily routine of the participants.

For the semi-finals, the 3 shortlisted participants will then be invited to the US. The semi-finalists are expected to commit their time on May 9-11, 2024.

Application instructions

Excited about joining Season 1 of Plus 1 Eco Odyssey? Here’s how you can submit your entry for the show:

1.  Follow the Application Link.
2.  Create a profile for yourself.
3.  Submit a 60-second video presenting yourself and your solution.
4.  Get invited for the screening interview in January 2024.

The application submission will take 15 minutes max.

After the screening interview, 9 contestants will be selected for Season 1.

The filming crew will fly to the countries of residence of the participants for 2-3 days. Top 3 contestants that make it to the semi-finals, will be asked to travel to the US in April for up to 5 days.
