Eligibility: over 18 years of age, EU 27, plus Switzerland, Norway and Iceland
Prize: € 1 Million Prize Pool
Do you have a product using GNSS or EO data ready to go on the market, but you lack funding for that last push?
If yes, then join the CASSINI Challenges by EUSPA and win cash prizes, develop your solutions, and grow your network.
Being a part of the competition is a great way to showcase your skills and creativity using EU Space data.
All participants are invited to use data from Galileo, and Copernicus to develop solutions that address real-world problems in various domains such as health, mobility, environment, agriculture, and energy.
Eligibility for the CASSINI Challenges
The CASSINI Challenges are open to all entrepreneurs. Whether you are an engineer, designer, researcher, policymaker, or business developer, you are welcome to participate.
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and can apply as individuals or as a team. Participation is open to anyone in the EU27 states and Norway. Innovators from Switzerland can apply proposing solutions relying on Galileo, and contestants from Iceland can participate with solutions using Copernicus data.
Proposal details and criteria for evaluation
When applying, you must have a market-ready product, along with an explanation of how it solves customer problems. It could be anything from mobile apps (e.g., an app that can predict wildfires using satellite data), robotics (e.g., a delivery drone guided by Galileo navigation) to wearables and tracking solutions.
The eligible solutions should tackle one of the following Challenges:
- Next Generation Challenge
(health and well-being, citizen’s safety, security, and connectivity) - Sustainable Future Challenge
(conservation of ecosystems, sustainable agriculture, mgmt. and energy resources) - Emerging Technologies Challenge
(quantum computing, advanced materials, photonics)
During the evaluation phase, the following criteria will be considered:
- Innovation (how innovative it is compared to existing solutions, the novelty of it, and the technological advancement)
- Market potential (revenue potential, market demand, and market entry plan)
- Feasibility (feasibility within the limits of current technology, development plan)
- EU Space-relevance (use of Galileo and/or Copernicus)
- Operational capacity (resources that will be invested in the development)
