Have a project that aims to address the negative impacts of AI systems on people and society in Europe? The European AI & Society Fund offers grants of up to €200,000 for innovative and impactful initiatives that promote accountability in using artificial intelligence across Europe.

AI Accountability Grants

The European AI & Society Fund aims to advance AI policies and practices that protect fundamental rights and tackle social injustice. As part of its Making Regulation Work program, the Fund’s AI Accountability Grants prioritize projects that address AI’s social impacts and empower public interest advocates to create real change.

These grants support a wide range of approaches to AI accountability and invite proposals for projects at the European, national, or local levels. Applicants don’t need to be AI or technology experts; instead, proposals grounded in social justice perspectives are strongly encouraged.

Grants range from €10,000 to €200,000, with flexible durations. However, all projects must be completed by December 2026.
