Deutsche Telekom Internships
Every year more than 1,000 students swap the lecture hall for practical experience with Deutsche Telekom. And they like it. 90 percent of the interns could imagine staying on to work for the company.
Experience your very own internship with Deutsche Telekom! It’s just a click away.
Responsibility from the start
The company is sure that you can make coffee. And use the printer. They don’t need to teach you that on your internship.
That’s why Deutsche Telekom gets you involved in project work. Keen to show your potential? You can. An internship with Deutsche Telekom means you get your own projects. And this could even develop into a topic for your thesis.
Make contacts
An internship is a great opportunity to gain work experience and to start building up contacts in the professional world. Having a large network of personal contacts is helpful – not only throughout your time with the company, but after your internship, too. And you should definitely use your social networks: You can contact current and former interns via the XING community Praktikum@Telekom.
Who is the ideal candidate for an internship?
All matriculated students and graduates who intend to enrol in a program of study at master’s level. What is important that applicants are keen to learn, have a good head on their shoulders and, most of all, want to get involved.
Telekom needs lateral thinkers. Are you creative and like to share ideas and information with others – possibly in English, too? Perfect!
Internship areas
Telekom needs lots of talented people in a whole range of fields. In IT, in marketing, in human resources, in product management, etc., etc., etc. – so it goes without saying that they also offer internships in all of these areas. And not just in Germany, but worldwide, too.
Internship duration
What about a full schedule? Deutsche Telekom offers internships starting at four weeks. After six months, voluntary interns then head back to their universities. Mandatory internships can last as long as required by study regulations and guidelines.
What’s more, Deutsche Telekom is the only company that offers the so-called “flexiship.” A flexiship is a voluntary internship that lets students put together a flexible working model together with their department.

Internships while you study
Because Deutsche Telekom believes in giving you the opportunity to apply your new know-how to real-life situations, they offer not only a wide range of vocational learning options but also mandatory and voluntary internships that take place during your course of academic study.
To make sure that your mandatory internship is optimally integrated with your curriculum, it starts with four weeks and continues as long as required by your study regulations. Contact your university for information about study regulations.
You can participate in a voluntary internship at any time during your course of study. The duration of these internships ranges from four weeks to a maximum of six months.
During your internship, you are entitled to holidays as stipulated by applicable labour laws. If you are interested in an internship that fits well with your daily study schedule, they recommend flexiship – the flexible internship. This alternative requires individual planning and can last up to a maximum period of two years.
Internships in the gap year
Graduates in their gap year who want to gain valuable work experience in advance of their master’s program can take advantage of internships ranging from four weeks to six months in duration. These can also be offered as flexiships.
No matter whether you are on a mandatory, voluntary or flexiship – Deutsche Telekom makes sure that you have a responsible task to fulfil in one of their areas of innovation, and you can expect an appropriate monthly remuneration.
